The Year of Yes

The Year of Yes is a film based on a book written by Maria Dahvana. Not due out till 2012..so a good long way off, which it will obviously need as the story sounds like that of Yes Man, replacing the man with 'woman'.
Apparently the book covers Maria's year as she says yes to every date she's offered!! (sounds familiar doesn't it)
Not sure what format the film will take but we'll see in a year or two!!

The Hangover

The new film from Todd Phillips (old school, Starsky and Hutch) entitled 'The Hangover' looks set to be a rather funny film about a guy who, along with some friends, has a bachelor party which gets out of hand in drink consumption, and his friends wake to find him missing and unable to re-count anything from the night before!

The trailers very funny and hopefully it's not all the comedy that can be found within the film which is due out in June.

X-Men Origins: Magneto

Could Magneto be next in line for the X-Men start over series?
It's clearly in production but whether another character will fill the gap between this and Wolverine is yet to be announced.
The film is being directed and co-written by David S. Goyer who's also helping to pen the script for 'The Flash'.
So it's comic book films for him for a while!

I think Magneto's origin story could potentially be a lot better than that of Wolverines due to the amount of Wolverines story tht was already covered in the original X-Men films. But i'm unsure what characters they'd bring into it and whether at any point the would use Ian McKellen or whether he'll be working on the Hobbit by this time!?

Warcraft

I suppose it was only a matter of time before this came about and it looks like it's set for 2011!
Then again as there is no info on it i could be mistaken in guessing it's linked to the games franchise! But with a multitude of stories from the original Warcraft games and an ever expanding online fan base whoever's making it will probably know the target audience pretty much straight away. The story from the third game is probably the best in terms of filmic storylines but as i say i could be wrong and it could merely be a title for something wholly unrelated.

Pee-Wee's playhouse- The Movie!!

According to IMDB this film not only stars Paul Reubens but is being written by him. With no one else on board it seems like a desperate strike back into the mainstream but will anyone in this day and age get it?

Although Pee-Wee's playhouse was never released in the UK as it was a TV show in the States i'm well aware of it and i thoroughly enjoyed the two films that came from Pee-Wee;s character, but i'm sceptical as to how a completely bonkers TV show with its strange array of characters is going to be made on the big screen.

Marvin the Martian?

Could this be THE Marvin??
There's absolutely nothing on this film at the moment other than the title..but it caught my eye!! I don't know what company would be making this but if it turns out to be Warner Bros then we'll at least know who it's about!

Fraggle Rock Movie

It would appear so! Set to be released in 2011 and written and directed by Cory Edwards the Fraggles leave the rock and head out into the human world.
I can only presume this will be made using puppets like the original series...i'm wondering if they'll film any of it in Cornwall where the lighthouse at the beginning of each episode is located.

Should be fairly good or at least nostalgic if the Henson company are going ahead with it.
Guess we'll have to wait a good while yet to see how the film develops.

Earthworm Jim...We think he's mighty fine!!

I used to love the Earthworm Jim games..and the cartoon series certainly had its moments too so i suppose it was only a matter of time until someone approached a studio to make the franchise into a film.
Obviously there's not much info about it yet...which includes no cast and no indication of what direction they'll take it, whether it will be CG or live action or even 2D.

Death at a Funeral again??

I was just browsing up and coming films for 2010 and came across THIS

It seems a bit odd that Chris Rock appears to be co-penning a script for a film that only came out a year or so ago and was directed by Frank Oz...HERE

so what's the deal!! I can only imagine it's being remade to target a large American audience as Frank Oz's was set in England..but to remake the story just seems like a waste of time! Besides i really enjoyed the first one and don't want to see Chris Rock shout his way through another film!

Where the Wild Things are!

Well a poster came out only a few days ago and now USA Today has managed to get hold of some new shots from the film itself. It Looks like Spike Jonze has kept to the style of the book to the letter and i can't wait to see the final product!
Here are a couple of the photos or you can click HERE to see them all!!

Alice in Wonderland Pic

Over at 'Total Film' they've managed to get a scan from the new specialist Disney magazine D23 from Tim Burton's upcoming film adaption of 'Alice in Wonderland'.
Filmed mainly in Plymouth UK it's set to be a cross breed of live-action and CGI and it will be interesting to see what he makes from the original story considering the numerous adaption's that have been made before.

Apparently in the D23 magazine their were also pieces about 'Toy Story 3' and a pic of Depp as the Mad Hatter...we'll have to wait and see if anything pops up online within the next few days or so.

clcik on the image to go to the 'Total Film' site and see a few other images.

Alien Trespass

This film has all a B-Movie fan may want, other than black and white. Directed by X-Files producer/director/writer R.W. Goodwin this film looks about as daft as they come when it boils down to an alien invasion. Not sure how it will fair or how wide its release will be but i wouldn't mind seeing ti just to see how truly ridiculous it is!
If you fancy watching the trailer click on the image below!

The Velveteen Rabbit

I've just watched the trailer for a new real life/animated film apparently based on a book. All i can say from watching the trailer is that i'll be surprised if it does well in cinemas. Penned as a family film it certainly shows through but looks badly made and has a very 80's touch to it.
If you want to read the synopsis and see the trailer for yourself click the image below.
